Scripts Series, 2020
In this series Thaïs tried to let go of preconceived notions of skill and beauty and approached her studio as a space for both play and assertive decisiveness. She revisits some of the visual language she absorbed as a child, archetypical images of domestication, cataclysm, deception, human perseverance, and care.

Vignettes Series
The Vignettes are an experiment in standardizing steps of making in order to create unique works, a process which allowed Thaïs to enter a meditative, receptive state of being in the studio. Interacting with the translucency of abaca and the opacity of cotton, relief prints are pressed into the front and/or back of many of the Vignettes. The blocks are symbols she developed to represent concepts such as roots cracking cement, the hope for success, the sound of a gunshot or firework display, and expressions of love.
