Sublunar Series, 2024
The Sublunar Series looks to evoke the liminal spaces between land and sea by celebrating the deckle-box mold approach to papermaking. Refined, overbeaten abaca paper traces the passage of water: first as it ripples within the papermaking mold, and then as it strains out to deposit, layer by layer, all the fibers that were held suspended.  These artworks hold their color within their fibrous structure, accentuating the dramatic interplay of sea, land and sky, and the transience of each captured moment.
