Selected Myriad Series, 2022
In 2022, Thaïs explored layering as an obstacle to both legibility and simple harmony. These tangles of imagery are made by accumulating uniquely perforated layers of ink drawings and paper fiber to press and dry into single sheets of paper. It is a series that looks to find synchrony within apparent chaos, where each element demands attention without overpowering the whole.

People Paper Series, 2022
The People Paper series is comprised of uniformly yellow, green, purple/blue, red, and white works (three in each color) that bring together ink painted fragments, paper-cutouts in handmade cotton, and thin abaca layers of paper. Made in response to the Selected Myriad series, here sameness is treated playfully with abaca sheets pigmented to match the cotton silhouettes they encompass, each a stylization of the human form.
